Dealing with doggo anxiety can be traumatic for everyone involved; you, your dog, your neighbour who has to listen to endless barking, and your furniture when you come home to find it scratched and chewed.

Exercise Your Doggo
For humans, exercise has a huge impact on mental health - we love endorphins. It's the same for dogs. Dedicate 30 minutes a day to give your dog some exercise. By doing so, you’ll not only keep them physically fit, but you’ll also tire them out and work up their appetite. Then, when it’s time to leave, your dog will be more concerned about food and napping than where you’re going.
Change Your Morning Routine
Your dog knows you also as well as you know yourself. Whether it’s from your work clothes, your morning alarm, or the jingling of your keys, you’re getting that sad “I know you’re leaving” face for a reason. So, why not try tweaking some of your habits? Small changes to your patterns can break negative associations that cause dread from your loving (and highly observant) canine companion.
- Don't Make It A Big Deal Feeling guilty and showering your doggo in apologetic hugs and kisses can perpetuate anxiety, as your dog may associate you leaving with a sad experience. Operate from a place of happiness and be upbeat about it.
- Consider A Calming Supplement Sometimes triggers cannot be avoided, and other interventions can have a huge impact.
